This week on Glee it was christmas time at WMHS and the club was filled with the holiday spirit!(and the first slushie of the season) The club takes to decorating the choir room in preparation for the holidays! Artie finds out that Brittany still believes in Santa Claus and when he and some other glee clubbers go to the mall to see the big man, Brittany asks Santa for Artie to walk again. Artie, knowing that this won't happen, recruits Coach Beiste to sneak into Brittany's house dressed as Santa and tell Brittany that he can't bring her what she wants.
Meanwhile, Coach Beiste decides to do a faculty Secret Santa and Will draws none other than Sue. After some help from Kurt Will finds a gift and when he brings it to her, he along with the other teachers find out that Sue rigged Secret Santa. Will decides to donate the gifts to the needy but Sue will have none of it. She dresses up as the Grinch, takes her gifts back and wrecks the choir room. The club is devastated and when Finn and Rachel go shopping for a new tree she tries once again to get hm to forgive her, but he ends the relationship. The club continues an attempt to carol throughout the school to raise money but are laughed at everytime. In the end the club carols for the faculty(successfully), Artie recieves a new invention that will help him walk on his own and Sue brings the club over to Will's house to decorate for the holidays on Christmas Eve(she does have a heart)!
This episode was a great way to end the first half of the season. The music as always was great(island of misfit toys!) and the fact that it was about doing things for others on the holidays was wonderful. I loved seeing Sue dressed up as the Grinch, but I wish that there was more Kurt in this episode! So no Finchel reunion in this episode, but by the smile they exchanged at the end of the episode still leaves us with some hope. Until February fellow Gleeks!
I'm so sorry for taking until the day of a new episode till I posted last weeks review. Real life got in the way and prevented me from blogging last week(don't you hate that!) So, on with the review!
This week, the gang goes to sectionals! With Kurt at Dalton and now a part of the Warblers, the group needs 12th member in order to make them ellible to compete. Mr. Shue also takes this time to announce the set list-after a discussion with Ms.Pilsbury(and inviting her to sectionals) he announces that Quinn, Sam and Santana will take the solos and Mike and Brittany will do the lead dancing. Rachel freaks out and it is revealed to her that Finn slept with Santana last year, Rachel storms out feeling betreayed and upset. Meanwhile, after getting thrown into a portapotty, Puck recruits wrestler Lauren for the club in exchange for 7 minutes in heaven with her.
At Dalton, Kurt joins the Warblers and is given a mascot, a bird to take care as he is the newest member. He soon learns that the council of upperclassmen pick the songs and if he wants a solo, he must audition. Kurt meets up with Rachel at WHMS after he is informed that he has been selected to audition for a solo at sectionals. Rachel helps him pick a song and just like "Defying Gravity" last year, the two sing "Don't Cry For Me Argentina" forming a bond between the two.
Artie leanrns that Brittany is afraid of dancing in front of crowds so he gives her a "magic comb." At sectionals Will goes without Emma and the New Directions performs against the Warblers and a group a elderly people called the Hipsters. New Directions ties for first place with the Warblers and will be moving on to Sectionals. Afterwards, Will learns the Emma and Carl got married in Vegas and Rachel tells Finn that she made out with Puck to make him jealous leading him to break up with her. Tina and Mercedes close the episode with "Dog Days Are Over."
This episode I felt was very good. While I'm glad that te whole V-card thing is not out in the air I'm not happy at all with the breakup of Finchel! The Emma and Carl marriage was something I was expecting, but not as fast. I think that this will be a true test if Will loves Emma or not. The musical numbers were great(Time of My Life is one of my favorite songs!) and I'm interested to see more from the Warblers! While the outcome of the competition was something to be expected it's nice to know that new Dorections will definetly go to Regionals. Tonight:It's a very Glee christmas!!! Till next time fellow Gleeks!
