I Will Never Leave You
Late last night, rumors began to spread around the theater blogs that the new revival of Side Show would close its doors on January 4th. Today, the rumor was confirmed and I can’t help but feel a deep pain of sadness and disappointment over this news. I saw the show live for the first time on its third preview then again, a couple weeks later on opening night courtesy of newyork.com. I was transfixed from the moment the lights dimmed and the eerie beginning of the show opener “Come Look at the Freaks” to the final curtain. Click for more

I Dreamed A Dream
Hello my lovelies! As you know I saw the new revival of Les Miserablesrecently and absolutely loved it. I know that I’ve mentioned this a few times before but Les Mis was the show that got me hooked on musical theater and now with the revival recently taking it's Broadway bow I wanted to share with you all my persona Les Mis story. A Whole New World
Hello my lovelies it’s time for an overdue update! With this seemingly never-ending winter looking like it’s finally coming to a close I decided that it was finally time to go see Aladdin. After an early wake up call, a three and a half hour wait for rush tickets (and trust me that was no where near my longest- I got to the Matilda rush line last spring at 5am and Pippin at 6), Starbucks, lunch and some good ole retail therapy the curtain finally went up and I have to say Disney knows how to win my heart! Live, Love and Dream Bigger
Live, love and dream bigger is the tagline for the new Broadway musical Big Fish based off the film and book of the same name now playing at the Neil Simon Theatre. The show proves to be just as inspirational and comforting as its tagline for any adult that is pining for a show that leaves you with a warm feeling inside.Click for more

When I Grow Up
When I grow up- that’s something that we hear all the time when we are kids. We are asked what we want to be, do and are told that we can do something when we are all grown up and as kids that seems like a lifetime away. In the new Broadway show Matilda, direct from the West End in London, the song “When I Grow Up” plays into the fantasy and notions of what it is like to a child to be a grown up. “And when I grow up, I will eat sweets everyday on the way to work and I will go to bed late every night. And I will wake up when the sun comes up and I will watch cartoons until my eyes go square and I won't care cause I'll be all grown up.” Click for more

What Are You Holding On For?
Earlier this week I saw the new musical Hands on Hardbody over at the Brooks Atkinson theatre. I’m going to be the blunt person with no filter for the moment as I tell you that I was surprisingly very impressed. I’ll be honest I really was not expecting a lot from this musical. They have some great names in the cast and word of mouth has been pretty good but I always like to see a show and form my own opinion and now after seeing it I cannot agree more! Click for more

Million Miles From Heaven
“Crowding out my vision, I am drowning in religion and I’m still a million miles from heaven.” This line from the opening song from the off-Broadway revival of Barerings true in my head as sit in front of laptop and will my fingers to type. Now its final week of performances leading up to a very premature closing Bare could not have come at a better time for me. With the revival of Rent recently ending and my other go to favorite Dogfight having completed its limited engagement run over the summer I was yearning for a show to fill that empty void and then along came Bare. Murder Ballad Takes No Prisoners
All is not fair in love and war. This old adage could not ring any more true to the new Off-Broadway musical Murder Ballad over at Manhattan Theatre Club New York City Center. Click for more

Here Right Now
Hello my lovely readers! So, in case you all didn’t know tonight Ghost the Musicalbased off the iconic Patrick Swayze and Demi Moore film plays its final Broadway performance. I got to see the show recently on the shows bloggers night and I will be honest I wasn’t exactly mesmerized but parts of the show were absolutely stunning. Click for more

525,600 Minutes
525,600 minutes. It feels like it has only been that long since Rent closed on Broadway and less than three years later the new Off-Broadway revival opened at New World Stages this past August. When the creative team announced last year that they were mounting the shows first ever revival Off-Broadway I felt I was among the many who sighed and said “Didn’t that close not too long ago?” Click for more
